The Rio Grande Southern was the most spectacular of all the Colorado narrow gauge lines. Stretching 165 miles from Ridgway to Durango, it was Otto Mears crowning achievement.The photos of Goose No. 5 were taken in 1995 while it was undergoing restoration. The restoration was completed in 1998, and No. 5 ran on the Cumbres & Toltec in May 1998. |
