The Durango and Silverton is probably the most famous of all the Colorado tourist railroads. Running up the Animas River Canyon from Durango, the train runs 400 feet above the river along the High Line north of Rockwood. The train arrives right in the middle of Silverton, one of the great mining towns of the San Juans. |
