IMAGES OF THE COLORADO & SOUTHERN RAILROAD

Photos by Jerry Clark

The Colorado and Southern is my favorite narrow gauge line. Descended from the South Park and Pacific RR, the last C&S narrow gauge line at Leadville lasted until 1943. Short cabooses, small engines with bear trap spark arrestors, and spectacular right of ways all combine to make the C&S lines memorable.
